Feather stripping
Almost every farm in a village kept geese in the past. Feather stripping was a traditional activity in the country between Christmas and Easter. During long winter evenings, women gathered alternately in each of their homes until they stripped all feathers they had plucked from their geese. Two dozen strippers gather from time to time in the former village shop in Sebranice near Litomyšl to strip feathers together.
